Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Slovenia on March 22, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who is officially elected by the National Assembly (Državni zbor) and sworn in as Prime Minister of Slovenia following the next parliamentary election. To count for resolution, the individual must be formally sworn in. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Prime Minister is sworn in by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Slovenia; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Following the narrow March 2026 Slovenian parliamentary election, where Robert Golob's Freedom Movement secured 29 seats but failed coalition talks with center-left and moderate parties, outgoing Prime Minister Golob conceded on April 20, entering opposition. President Nataša Pirc Musar declined to nominate a prime minister-designate on April 25, tasking National Assembly factions with proposing a candidate able to command a 46-seat majority by early May. Janez Janša's commanding trader consensus stems from his Slovenian Democratic Party's 28 seats, past success forming three governments, and progressing right-wing coalition negotiations with New Slovenia's bloc and others, as evidenced by their support for Resni.ca's speaker election. Potential disruptions include deadlock over policy sticking points, Resni.ca's refusal to back Janša, or a compromise nominee like Anže Logar, risking snap elections.
